About StateDemographics.com
StateDemographics.com provides comprehensive demographic data for every state, county, and city in the United States. Our data is sourced directly from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates, the gold standard for community-level demographic information.
Data Stewardship
We publish the complete ACS 5-Year vintage currently available for local geographies: 2020–2024. Each annual refresh updates the profiles, rankings, calculators, free CSV downloads, and data documentation together. Every profile identifies its data vintage and links to the methodology so readers can distinguish a five-year survey estimate from a current count, listing price, or monthly labor-market figure.
Our Data
We present data from the following Census tables:
- B01003 — Total Population
- B01002 — Median Age
- B19013 — Median Household Income
- B25077 — Median Home Value
- B03002 — Hispanic or Latino Origin by Race
- B15003 — Educational Attainment
How We Present Data
Every community page includes contextual comparisons to state and national averages, helping you understand how a city or county compares to broader benchmarks. Rankings within each state provide additional context for population, income, and other key metrics. For a full explanation of how each figure is computed — including how we handle margins of error, top-coded values, and small communities — see our methodology page; plain-English definitions of every term are in the glossary.
Data Currency
The ACS 5-Year Estimates are updated annually by the Census Bureau, typically released in December. We update our data following each new release to ensure accuracy and relevance.
